英文時態「過去簡單式」是什麼？與過去進行式的差異？
英文的時態是由動詞的變化來表現，其中時態指的就是：
時間 現在、過去、未來
狀態 簡單、進行、完成和完成進行
交叉組合後總共有12種英文時態，今天要來介紹的是「過去簡單式」！

使用時機？
❚ 描述發生在過去的事，常和表示過去的時間副詞一起使用
My parents gave me a new bike on my last birthday.
去年生日時我爸媽送了我一台新腳踏車。
❚ 表示過去的事實或狀態，與現在已經不同
Ben was a nice person.
Ben（曾經）是個好人。
❚ 描述過去規律的習慣，常和頻率副詞一同使用
When I was a kid, I rode my bike every day.
我還是小孩子的時候，天天騎腳踏車。
常搭配的時間副詞（片語）有這些：
• yesterday（＋時間）
例：yesterday (morning/afternoon/evening)
• in ＋過去時間
例：in the past, in 2005, in the fall of 2010
• this ＋時間（這個…）※ 動作發生時間須早於說話時間
例：this morning/afternoon/evening/week/month/year
• last ＋時間（上個…）
例：last night/week/month/year, last winter vacation, last time, last Friday, last weekend
• 一段時間＋ ago（…之前）
例：four hours ago, two months ago
•（時間＋）before（＋時間）
例：
before, the night before（前一天晚上）,
the day before yesterday（前天）,
the week/month/year before last（上上週／上上個月／前年）
• the other ＋時間（不久前的那…）
例：the other day/night/evening
• the next ＋時間（隔…）※ 常用於敘述過去的事件或故事時
例：the next morning（隔天早上）, the next week（隔週）
過去簡單式的句型
❚ 直述句：S+ 過去式動詞 ...
過去式動詞分為「規則變化 V+ed」與「不規則變化」，以下常見的不規則變化動詞：
am/is → was
are → were
run → ran
see → saw
go → went
know → knew
give → gave
take → took
buy → bought
例句：
I talked to you this morning.
我早上跟你說過話。
Macy went to the store and bought a beautiful black dress.
Macy 去了那間店一趟，並買了一件漂亮的黑裙子。
David ran a big company when he was young.
David 年輕時掌管一間大型企業。
We were classmates three years ago.
我們三年前是同學。
My mother cleaned my bedroom this afternoon.
我媽媽下午打掃了我的房間。
❚ 否定句
be 動詞：S + was / were +not...
一般動詞：S+ did not (didn't) +V ...
例句：
My parents weren't at home last week.
我父母上週不在家。
I didn't catch a cold last weekend, but all the other people in my family did.
上週末我沒有感冒，但是我的家人都感冒了。
❚ Yes/No問句
be 動詞：Was / Were + S...
一般動詞：Did + S +V ...
例句：
Were your parents at church last Sunday morning?
你父母上個週日早上在教會嗎？
Did you water the plants this morning?
你今天早上有給植物澆水嗎？
❚ WH-問句
① Wh-疑問詞 + was /were + S…
② Wh-疑問詞 + did + S + V…
例句：
Where was Jack yesterday?

過去簡單式：敘述過去發生的動作
Mom did the dishes this evening.
媽媽在今天傍晚洗了碗盤。
過去進行式：過去某個時間點正在進行動作
Mom was doing the dishes at 8 p.m. last night.
昨晚八點媽媽正在洗碗盤。
