「from」常與表示「保護、阻止」的動詞連用，表達「保護／阻止…免於…」之意。
stop 阻止… + O + from N/ V-ing
👉 Mom stopped me from going outside without wearing a hat.
媽媽不讓我沒戴帽子外出。
keep 阻止…／讓…免於…+ O + from N/ V-ing
👉 Lucy kept her dog from eating chocolate because it would be dangerous.
Lucy 不讓她的狗吃巧克力，因為巧克力會為狗狗帶來危害。
prevent 阻止…；使…無法…+ O + from N/ V-ing
👉People wear masks to prevent the disease from spreading.。
人們帶上口罩以防止這個疾病散佈。
protect 保護…免於…+ O + from N/ V-ing
👉 My warm sweater protected me from being cold in the winter.
我暖和的毛衣可以讓我免於在冬天受寒。
save 拯救…免於…+ O + from N/ V-ing
👉 The brave man saved the cat from falling from the tree.
