事出必有「因」，用關係副詞「why」描述原因

人是充滿好奇心的動物，時常會對事情提出「為甚麼？」的疑問，而當我們想要用英文來表達「某事的原由、原因」時，就可以使用「關係副詞why」引導的關係子句來描述，來看怎麼用：
** The students asked their teacher the reason why they had to learn so much math.
=The students asked their teacher why they had to learn so much math.
學生問老師為什麼他們得學這麼多數學知識。（先行詞the reason，可省略）
** Scientists have come up with a new explanation for why sea turtles eat plastic.
科學家找到了一個海龜會吃塑膠的新說法。
