一次學！「as」的三種詞性5種用法
今天要教大家「as」的用法，別看它短短的只由兩個字母組成，可是很萬用的喔！
❚ 作為從屬連接詞時，根據前後文的關係，as 可表示以下幾種涵義：
① 表示「當…時；隨著…」，與 when 或 while 意義相近。
As the fire raced toward the town, people quickly packed their clothes and drove away.
隨著火勢蔓延到城鎮，人們快速打包衣物後駕車離開。
As you grow up, your idea of the world change.
隨著你長大，你對世界的想法也會跟著改變。
I heard somone knocking on the door as I cooked.
我煮飯的時候聽到有人在敲門。
② 表示「由於；因為」，與 since 或 because 意義相近。
As we are late for the movie, let's take a taxi to the theater.
既然我們看電影都已經遲到了，那就搭計程車去電影院吧。
I'm excited to see my parents as we haven't been able to meet for two years.
見到我的爸媽讓我很興奮，因為我們已經兩年無法見面了。
③ 表「（以同樣的方式）和…一樣」
Kevin is late to school today, as usual.
凱文今天上學遲到了，就像往常一樣。
❚ 作為介系詞時，用來表示「身為；作為」的意思。
As someone who smoked for 30 years, I can tell you it's a terrible, unhealthy habit.
身為一個抽菸三十年的過來人，我能告訴你這是一個非常糟糕又不健康的習慣。
As someone who had a difficult childhood, I know how seriously it can affect people as adults.
作為過來人，我了解有個艱苦的童年會對一個成人帶來多大的影響。

Harriet 在萬聖節時打扮成公主。

❚ 作為副詞，則能夠表達「和…一樣…」的意思。
The strange drink tasted like fruit juice, but not as sweet.
這個詭異的飲料喝起來像果汁，但沒有那麼甜。
People say vanilla is more boring than chocolate, but I think it's just as good.
大家都說香草口味嚐起來比巧克力口味單調，但我覺得香草口味也一樣棒。
