形容詞放在名詞後方的用法稱為「後位修飾」

在一般語法中，我們習慣將形容詞擺在名詞的前方做修飾，例如：a pretty girl，但很多時候我們需要更複雜一點的修飾時，英文通常會使用到「後位修飾」，也就是將形容詞擺在名詞後方修飾前面的名詞，今天就來介紹其中一種「介系詞片語的後位修飾」：
📍 介系詞 + 時間／位置---表「時間」、「位置」
I wonder how people in the 1900s lived their daily lives.
我很好奇1900年代的人們是怎麼過日子的。
Abby said she's dating her friend from school.
艾比說她正在和學校裡的朋友交往。
📍 with + 事物---表「事物（附帶狀況或條件）」
Sandy is a successful musician with ten years of experience.
珊迪是名擁有十年經驗的成功音樂家。
📍 with + 配件或首飾 / in + 衣服／顏色---表「穿戴的衣物或首飾配件」
Everyone was shocked to see the president with a terrible haircut.
每個人看到總統留著那個糟糕的髮型時都被嚇呆了。
Jamie saw the guy in the red T-shirt steal something from the store.
傑米看到那個穿紅T恤的人從店裡偷走了某個東西。
📍 with/without + 身體外貌特徵---表「身體外貌特徵」
People with brown eyes make up half of the world's population.
有著褐色眼睛的人佔據了超過世界一半的人口。
📍 about + 有關的事---表「有關」
I watched a movie about a Japanese princess.
我看了一部關於一位日本公主的電影。
