聊天話家常超好用的英文句型：It is said that…據說...
聊八卦的起手式常會說「聽說.../據說...」，英文可以用這個句型來表達：
It is said / believed/ reported (that)…
＊以虛主詞 it 開頭，真正的主詞是後面由 that 引導的名詞子句。
＊句中說話者不明確或不重要，常用於表達傳聞、普遍觀點或不確定的資訊來源。
＊在口語或非正式場合，that 常被省略，且不影響句意。
例句：
It is said (that) a man once saw a large monster swimming in this lake.
據說有人曾經看見一隻大怪物在這座湖裡游泳。
It is believed (that) the house is haunted by several ghosts.
據信那間房子鬧鬼。
⌞也可以將句型變化為不定詞結構：
It beV believed/said/reported that + S + V…
→ S + beV believed/said/reported to + V…
例句：
It is said (that) this plant is able to heal certain illnesses.
→ This plant is said to be able to heal certain illnesses.
這種植物據說能夠治療某些疾病。
It is believed (that) these dinosaur bones are more than 100 million years old.
→ These dinosaur bones are believed to be more than 100 million years old.
這些恐龍骨骸據信有超過一億年的歷史。

→ The popular politician is reported to be thinking about running for president.
據報導那名受歡迎的政治人物正在打算競選總統。
若 that 子句的時態為過去式或完成式時，不定詞需改為 to have p.p.：
It is reported (that) a serious car crash happened near the school this morning.
→ A serious car crash is reported to have happened near the school this morning.
據報導今天早上學校附近發生了一起嚴重的車禍。
It was reported that the airplane had an accident just after taking off.
→ The airplane was reported to have had an accident just after taking off.
