amount 和 number 同樣表達「數量」，但用法大不同喔！
『amount』是表達東西的數量，『number』也是表達東西的數量，片語用法也相似：「a … number of」和「a(n)… amount of」，兩者都可以搭配 large, small, great 等形容詞來表示不同程度的數量多寡，來看他們的使用差異：
