-ed/-ing 結尾的情緒形容詞，一次弄懂！

在英文裡，像 bored / boring、interested / interesting、excited / exciting 這類由情緒動詞變化而來的情緒形容詞，常常讓學習者搞混。

其實，分辨它們的核心關鍵只有一個：到底是「自己感到…」還是「令人感到…」

 

• -ed 結尾 表示某人「本身感到…」

因為是形容「內心的感覺」，所以它的主體通常是「人」（或是擁有情感的動物）。

The scientists are interested in finding life on other planets.

科學家們對於在其他星球上尋找生命很感興趣。

 

• -ing 結尾 表示某人事物「令人覺得…」

代表的是某事物具備某種特質，指的是「帶給別人的感覺」。主體可以是「事情、物品、地方」，也可以是「人」（如果這個人本身散發出某種特質的話）。

I stopped reading this book because it was too boring.

這本書太無聊了，所以我後來就不看了。
