• essential (adj.) 基本的，不可或缺的重要，即絕對必要的

• significant (adj.) 指有意義或值得注意而重要的
Chocolate is a significant part of this cake. Without it, the cake would taste completely different.

• vital (adj.) 指具有必要性的重要
Oxygen and water are vital to many living beings' survival.

學了單字，接著學句型表達「某件事很重要」
「 it is + adj. + that + S +(should) +V… 」
本句型結構是用某些特定形容詞（critical 「非常重要的」、necessary、advisable 「明智的」、important、essential「必要的；極其重要的」、desirable「理想的；可取的」等）來說明 that 名詞子句中所述事件或行為的必要性或重要性，且 that 子句常會用 S + should + V 的形式，主要是希望讀者或聽者能按照其指示行事，通常會省略 should。
例句：
It is essential that the government (should) raise taxes on the wealthiest people.
政府針對最富有的人提高稅收是必要之舉。
It is desirable that the book club (should) meet on Sundays, because most of the members are busy on Saturdays.
讀書會成員能在星期天碰面是最理想的，因為大部分的成員星期六都很忙。
在正式寫作中，此類句型的部分形容詞也可改寫為名詞，句型如下：
it is of (+ adj.) + N + that + S (+ should) + V…
例句：
It is of great importance that you (should) finish all of your work by next Friday.
在下週五之前完成你所有工作是非常重要的。
It is of the greatest necessity that the president (should) change this law before any more innocent people are arrested.
