表「遺憾、可惜」之意的英文「too bad」，也有反諷的語意

當有人對你說「too bad 」時，別誤會對方是在說你糟糕，而是在表達「可惜、遺憾」之意，而用在口語上則常帶有反諷的語意：
📍 too bad可惜的；遺憾的
It's too bad Jamie couldn't come to the party. I wanted her to come.
可惜 Jamie 不能來派對，我很希望她能來的。
📍（反諷）那也沒辦法，表示根本不同情或不在乎
You're angry because you can't have cake? Too bad! Eat your vegetables.
你因為不能吃蛋糕而生氣？啊不就好可憐！把你的蔬菜吃掉啦。
