英文「複合形容詞」讓你寫作、說話簡潔有力又到位！

今天要來分享活用也實用的👉「複合形容詞」，它是由兩個或兩個以上的單詞組成的形容詞，可以讓你的文句變得更簡潔易懂。然而複合形容詞的組合有很多種，今天就先簡單介紹最常見的三種用法吧：

✒ 形容詞+名詞-ed

EX:

good-mannered 有禮貌的

open-minded 態度開放的

middle-aged 中年的

* The woman who had a kind heart spent her weekends helping the homeless by cooking free meals for them.

→ The kind-hearted woman spent her weekends helping the homeless by cooking free meals for them.

那位心地善良的女人花費她的週末煮免費的午餐來幫助無家可歸的人。

* The well-mannered children sat quietly on the floor while they listened to the teacher's story.

這些有規矩的小孩安靜地坐在地上聽老師說故事。

EX:

human-sized 人類大小的

stone-hearted 鐵石心腸的

beak-shaped 鳥嘴形狀的

* When I saw the statue with a face of a dragon, I felt a sense of power running through my body.

→ When I saw the dragon-faced statue, I felt a sense of power running through my body.

看到那尊龍面雕像時，我感受到一股能量從體內流過。

* The blue-haired boy wore a very strange mix of clothing styles that didn't seem to match.

那個有著一頭藍色頭髮的男孩衣著混合了奇怪的風格，看起來並不搭。

EX:

one-sided 一面的

three-eyed 三眼的

one-armed 獨臂的

* We saw a story on TV last night about a girl with six fingers who plays the violin.

→ We saw a story on TV last night about a six-fingered girl who plays the violin.

我們昨晚在電視上看到一則關於一位有六根手指的女孩演奏小提琴的故事。

* Humphry sat on a three-legged chair that he found in the corner of the room.

杭福瑞坐在一張他在房間角落發現的三腳椅上。
