「笑 」的英文有哪些？

「笑」有很多種，有輕輕一抹微笑、也放聲開懷大笑，英文同樣也有不同說法，除了大家都知道的「smile」，也可以用「laugh」表達：
 

😊 smile　指嘴角上揚的（露齒）笑

Kendra greets everyone in the office with a cheerful smile each morning.
坎卓每天早上都會帶著一抹快樂的微笑向辦公室裡的每個人打招呼。

😂 laugh　指發出聲音的開懷大笑

⌞laughter (n.) 笑聲

哈哈哈；放聲大笑（laughing out loud 的縮寫，於網路上或簡訊中使用）

Everyone laughed when the cat did something funny and cute.
當貓咪做出有趣可愛的舉動時，所有人都笑了。

Everyone laughed when Jamie told them a funny story.
當傑米講了一個好笑的故事時，每個人都笑了出來。

😀 giggle 咯咯笑；傻笑

Samantha couldn't stop herself from giggling when she saw her brother's awful new haircut.
當莎曼珊看到她哥哥糟糕的新髮型時，她無法克制地咯咯笑。

😁 grin 露齒而笑；裂嘴笑

The child grinned when he thought of a trick to play on his friend.
這名小孩在想到一個可以對他朋友施行的惡作劇後便咧嘴笑了。

😏 mock 嘲笑；嘲弄

The boxer mocked his opponent before the match by making funny faces at him.
這名拳擊手在比賽前向對手做鬼臉來嘲弄他。

 
 
【和「笑」有關的片語】

● laugh with sb.  與某人一同歡笑；一齊同樂

● laugh at sb. / sth. 

⌞ 嘲笑某人

Steve called the teacher "Mom," and the class laughed at him. 
Steve 把老師叫成「媽媽」，所以全班都在笑他。
 

⌞ 因某事而大笑

The monkey made a funny face, and the visitors laughed at it. 
猴子做出搞笑的表情，遊客們都因此大笑。

● make fun of sb/sth 嘲笑某人

Everyone made fun of Tim when he answered the teacher's question wrong.
當 Tim 答錯了老師的問題時，所有的人都取笑他。
 
The other children were always making fun of him because he was fat and wore glasses.
別的孩子總是取笑他，因爲他胖而且還戴著眼鏡。
 

● poke fun at  取笑；嘲笑（某人）

Sean's friends often poke fun at him for using difficult words to explain things.
尚恩的朋友經常取笑他用難懂的詞彙來解釋事情。

It's not nice to poke fun at someone's appearance, especially their weight.
嘲笑某人的外表，尤其是他們的體重是不禮貌的。
