英文裡的「放鴿子」竟然跟「吹熄」有關！？

『blow out』在英文片語裡動作的確是＂把氣吹出來＂，意思是『吹熄』，若在「blow」跟「out」中間加＂某人＂，則會變成另一個片語『失約於…；放…的鴿子』：
blow out (phr.) 吹熄
👉 Sally made a wish before she blew out the candles on her birthday cake.
Sally 在吹熄生日蛋糕的蠟燭之前，許了一個願。
blow sb out (phr.) 失約於…；放…的鴿子
👉 She was supposed to go to that party with me, but she blew me out.
她本該與我一起去那個聚會的，可是她失約了。
