擺脫幼幼班英文，句型「There is/are +NP」的進階用法
基礎句型之一『there is/are +NP』，是用來表達某事物「存在」的英文句型，也就是『有…』的意思，若想要透過此句型更生動表達存在物的狀態和動作時，則必須搭上現在分詞（主動語態）或過去分詞（被動語態），來看下列例句：
【句型：there is /are +NP】
● 單數用法
there is + a/an/one + 單數可數/不可數N.
肯定句
Look! There is a big bird on the top of our house.
看！我們家屋頂上有一隻大鳥。
否定句
There isn't any food in the fridge. We need to go to the supermarket today.
冰箱裡沒有食物了。我們今天需要去一趟超級市場。
Yes-no問句
Is there a restroom near here?
這附近有廁所嗎？
● 複數用法
There are + some/many/… + 複數可數N.
肯定句
There are some cookies on this plate. You can have one.
這個盤子上有些餅乾。你可以拿一個來吃。
否定句
There aren't any clouds in the sky.
空中半朵雲都沒有。
Yes-no 問句
Are there any available seats for tonight's movie?
今晚的電影還有座位嗎？
【現在分詞表主動語態】
- There are some kids at the school gate.
- The kids are playing with a dog.
👉There are some kids playing with a dog at the school gate.
校門口有幾個小孩在跟一隻小狗玩。（小孩是主動跟小狗玩）
- There are a few people here.
- They are waiting for the store to open.
👉There are a few people here waiting for the store to open.
有些人在那邊等候店家開門。（人們是主動等待）
【過去分詞表被動語態】
- There were five award winners there.
- The winners were seated at the front of the audience.
👉 There were five award winners seated at the front of the audience.
有五名得獎者的座位被安排在觀眾席前排。（得獎者是被動讓人安排座位）
- There are lots of messages on this wall.
- They are written by students.
👉 There are lots of messages on this wall written by students.
牆上有許多學生們寫的留言。（留言是被學生寫的）
