英文「助動詞」基本用法一次學！
英文中無處不見「助動詞」的蹤跡，但你對它們的認識有多少呢？以下就要帶大家了解了解他們的基本用法！
助動詞主要分為兩類：
第一類：一般助動詞
有「be動詞、do/does/did、have/has/had」
本身不帶字義，用以幫助主動詞形成時態（現在式、過去式、未來式）、語態、疑問句、否定句或簡答句。
| be動詞：
is、am、are、was、were...等， 因皆來自動詞 be的變化，故統稱為be動詞。
➥ 進行式：
Gary is talking to the manager right now.
蓋瑞正在跟經理談話。
➥ 被動式：
My homework is completed before I watch TV in the evenings.
我的作業在我晚上看電視前就完成了。
| do/ does / did
用來形成否定句、疑問句或簡答句。
➥ 疑問句
Do you like playing basketball?
你喜歡打籃球嗎？
➥ 否定句
No, I don't like playing basketball.
不，我不喜歡打籃球。
➥ 簡答句
Yes, I do. / No, I don't.
對，我喜歡。／不，我不喜歡。
| have / has / had
用以表達事情的狀態。
➥ 現在完成式
Tom has been to Japan a few times.
Tom 去過日本幾次。
➥ 過去完成式
The flight to Japan had already left the airport when I arrived.
當我抵達機場時飛往日本的飛機已經離開機場了。
第二類：語氣助動詞
有 will / would、shall / should、can / could、may / might
又稱情態助動詞，用以給予主動詞添上感情色彩（例如許可、禁止、猜測、可能、能力等）。
| will / would
➥ 表 將會（過去時態用would）
Ursula will start a new job soon.
Ursula 很快就要開始新工作了。
Sam said he would travel abroad during his
summer vacation.
山姆說他暑假會出國旅遊。
➥ 表 請求（would比will更客氣）
Would you please close the window?
可以請你關一下窗戶嗎？
➥ 表 過去的習慣用would
My old dog would wag its tail when it wanted you to pet it.
以前我養的狗想要你撫摸牠時，牠就會搖尾巴。
| shall
➥ 表 未來（此用法已少見，多以will取代）
I shall(=will) send you a postcard when I'm in Paris.
當我人在巴黎時，我會寄明信片給你。
➥ 表 允諾、威脅或強烈決心
The enemy shall not pass.
絕對不能讓敵人通過！
➥ 徵求意見或表達建議
Shall I pick up the pizza?
要我去拿披薩嗎？
Shall we go to the concert tonight?
我們今晚去聽音樂會如何？
| should
➥ 只在間接敘述句中做shall的過去式
I though I should be able to see you this morning.
我已為我今天早上能見到你。
➥ 表 義務或忠告（現在式與過去式皆用should）
You should give up your seat to elderly people on the MRT .
搭捷運時，你應該禮讓位子給年長者。
➥ 表 過去該做而未做，否定則反之。（句型：should + have+p.p.）
They should'nt have parked their car in a no parking zone.
他們不應該把車停在禁止停車的區域。
| can / could
➥ 表 能力（過去時態用could）
Kenny can play basketball really well.
肯尼籃球真的打得很好。
➥ 徵求許可（此為口語用法，正式語氣用may）
Can I borrow your pen for a second?
我可以借用一下你的筆嗎？
➥ 表 委婉語氣、禮貌詢問意願用could
Could you please turn off the TV?
可以請你把電視關掉好嗎？
| may / might
➥ 徵求許可（禮貌程度：can＜could＜may）
Mom may I go to the movie theater this evening?
媽媽，我今天晚上可以去電影院嗎？
➥ 表 可能性（might 比 may 可能性更低）
I may be late for dinner tonight. Don't wait for me.
我今晚晚餐很可能會遲到，不要等我。
➥ 表 希望、祝願
May all your wishes come true!
