「關係副詞」的4種用法一次學！
英文中有一類連接詞稱為「關係副詞」，用來引導形容詞子句，修飾前方的先行詞，按照先行詞的類型有4種關係副詞：where、when、why、how，以下例句：
關係副詞是什麼？
關係副詞 = 介系詞 + 關係代名詞which
兼具連接詞與副詞的功用，引導形容詞子句，修飾先行詞
This is the store where I bought my sister's birthday gift.
= This is the store at which I bought my sister's birthday gift.
關係副詞有哪些？
依先行詞分類

表「地點 place」的關係副詞 where
Scott booked a room in the hotel where (= in which) he had stayed during his previous visit to London.
史考特在先前到訪倫敦時住過的飯店訂了一間房。
（若省略先行詞則不能替換成「介系詞+which」）
表「時間 time」的關係副詞 when
Next Tuesday is the day when (= on which) the new students will start at this school.
下週二是新生在這所學校開學的日子。
（若省略先行詞則不能替換成「介系詞+which」）
表「理由 reason」的關係副詞 why
The students asked their teacher the reason why (= for which) they had to learn so much math.
學生問老師為什麼他們得學這麼多數學知識。
（若省略先行詞則不能替換成「介系詞+which」）
表「方法 way」的關係副詞 how
During the factory tour, we learned the way (in which) cars are put together.
= During the factory tour, we learned how cars are put together.
在參觀工廠的過程中，我們了解到汽車是如何拼裝起來的。
（the way與how不能同時使用，故只能擇一）
