讓你英文寫作、口說更道地的「複合形容詞」用法

今天要跟大家介紹～不論走到哪都一定會遇到的『複合形容詞』。
通常使用英文在形容人事物時，常會用 who、which 或 that 等關係代名詞引導子句，會使句子顯得有點長，這時可以試著轉換成複合形容詞，縮短句子之外也能讓聽者、讀者更快明瞭！
那複合形容詞是如何誕生的？
它是由分詞和名詞、副詞或形容詞以連字號”-“連接而成。而連字號後的「分詞」若原意為「主動」則用現在分詞；「被動」則用過去分詞，下方公式and例句：
N + V-ing/ p.p.
The mayor of the city won the election this year with the results that broke the record.
⇨The mayor of the city won the election this year with record-breaking results.
這座城市的市長今年選舉以破紀錄的票數獲勝。
These days, we use more man-made products than natural ones.(→the products are made by man)
我們現在比較常用到人造的產品，而不是天然的。
The beautiful snow-covered mountain attracts a lot of tourists here every winter.(→the mountain is covered by snow)
這裡冰雪覆蓋的美麗山景每年冬天都吸引很多遊客前來。
adj./ adv. + V-ing/ p.p
The slow-moving traffic this morning made me arrive at school half an hour late. (→the traffic was moving slowly)
今早車速緩慢的交通使我晚了半個小時才到學校。
The well-known actress put on a pair of large sunglasses to avoid being recognized in public. (→ the actress is known well)
這位知名的女演員戴上一副大太陽眼鏡，為了避免在公眾場合被認出。
