📌 work out 理解；想出
When John arrived in Shanghai, he had to work out a way to get around the city by himself.
約翰到達上海時，他得找到辦法自己一個人在城市裡移動。
📌 figure out 理解；想出
The police spent weeks trying to figure out who had robbed the bank.
警方花費數週試著找出是誰搶了銀行。
📌 make out 理解；辨認；看出；聽出
The sound on the phone call wasn't good, so I couldn't make out what my friend was saying.
這個通話的音質不太好，所以我聽不出我朋友在說什麼。
