「The 比較級…, the 比較級」意旨「越…，就越…」
英文句型：
The more/-er + S1 + V1 …, the more/-er + S2 + V2 …
① 本句型表示「越…，就越…」的意思，句子的構成是將比較級的成分往前移，再將剩餘的句子成分依序填入即可。第一個the所引導的是副詞子句，第二個the所帶領的才是主要子句。
可以根據兩個句子的因果關係判斷何者可作為副詞子句，何者作為主要子句。
範例：
We climbed higher on the mountain. （因）（副詞子句）
The weather became colder. （果）（主要子句）
The higher we climbed on the mountain, the colder the weather became.
我們爬山爬得越高，天氣就變得越冷。
The earlier you start studying, the better you will do on the test.
你越早開始唸書，考試成績會越好。
② 若比較級形容詞用來修飾名詞，而不是當補語使用，則修飾的名詞應緊跟在比較級形容詞後。
The more healthy food you eat, the less chance you have of becoming sick.
你吃的健康食品越多，生病的機率就會越小。
The more money Henry earns, the less worry there is for him.
亨利賺的錢越多，他的擔憂就越少。
