▶ search for
除了指在電腦上搜尋資訊，也能用在其他地方指「仔細且徹底的搜尋」。
Our dog ran away from the house. We searched for him all around the neighborhood.
我們家的狗跑出了家門，我們在附近的鄰里找牠。
▶ look for
較為口語，強調「尋找的過程」。
I'm going downtown to visit some shops and look for a new pair of jeans.
我要去市中心逛逛幾家商店找一條新的牛仔褲。
I'm looking for a pink dress because Andrea wants one for her birthday.
