今天和大家介紹介系詞「against」的用法！常見於一些關於抗議或比賽的文章中，形容「對立、反對」關係，除此之外也還有以下幾種用法喔~整包學起來！
1. 表「不利於…」
常見搭配詞為 work/go/count against sb「…對某人不利」。
The new policy seems to work against small businesses, making it harder for them to compete with bigger companies.
這項新政策似乎對小型企業不利，讓它們更難與大型公司競爭。
2. against 與 brush、beat、hit、push 等動詞連用時有「碰到…，打到…，撞到…（某物表面）」等意思。
Henry hit his leg against the table while walking to the bathroom in the dark.
亨利在黑暗中走去浴室時腳撞到了桌子。
3. 表「（作為支撐）倚靠著」。
Vivian sat down and rested her back against the wall.
薇薇安坐了下來，然後把背靠在牆上。
4. 表「違反；犯；（法律或規則）禁止」。
It is against the rules to run around the pool.
在泳池周圍奔跑是違反規定的。
5. 表「反對（計畫、想法或行動）」。
The law passed with 100 votes for and only three against it.
這條法律以 100 票贊成、僅 3 票反對獲得通過。
