搭配「時間」的介系詞：in、for、during、within
英文中與「時間」搭配的介系詞有很多種，其中有四個常見也容易混淆的：within、during、in、for，它們雖然都表達「在...期間」，但用法上有些不同：
① within
指的是「在…期間之內（不能超過一個特定的時間點）」，為介系詞，後方接名詞。
The clothes I bought online are supposed to arrive within a week.
我網購的衣服應該要在一週之內送達。
② in
用來表達「在…期間內；在…時候」，但沒有強調不能超過一個特定的時間點。
Sally usually goes to the supermarket in the afternoon.
莎莉通常會在下午的時候去超市。
You should leave in ten minutes, or you'll miss the bus.
你應該要在 10 分鐘內離開，不然就會錯過公車。
③ during + 名詞
表「在某段期間」，但後面不接所持續的時間長度，要講到時間長度的話會用到介系詞 for。
They plan to visit their grandparents during the holidays.
他們預計在假期期間拜訪祖父母。
④ for + 一段時間
表某一動作或狀態持續一段時間
David waited for an hour, but no one came.
David 等了 1 小時，但都沒有人來。
Jacob has lived in Canada for five years.
雅各已經在加拿大住了五年。
